Only on an Apple forum, when new features are raised as possibilities, does a sizeable minority of posts involve griping about "Why would you want to do that?!" or "What kind of stupid feature is that?"
I don't see what's so hard to accept that some times, in some instances, some people might find use of over-the-air updates. Given that Apple always releases new iOS updates at 1pm during weekdays, when the vast majority of us are at work, I can easily invision scenarios where there's a cool new feature in a point update that everyone wants to give a spin. Why not start the download at work so it's ready to test drive before you leave the office?
And, to all those citing bandwidth constraints as curtailing this behavior: Verizon users have no such constraints.

Are you sure you're looking at the Battery's serial number? My Powerbook's number starts with a W, but the battery starts with 3K...etc.
Yeah, low and behold my battery still starts with a W. If I didn't have battery issues I wouldn't be complaining. But as of now my computer doesn't qualify but I DO in fact have battery issues.

i think i would rather read a paperback
wouldnt the screen strain the eyes?
I've been reading books on a Palm Tungsten T5 for a couple of years now.
It's a lot easier to carry around 75+ books in it than on paper.
And at night, my wife isn't kept away with a light on in the room, as long as I don't keep the T5 in front of her face.
With a bigger screen, a "bookPod" should be just as good.

It's interesting that in a previous post, an Apple Store employee mentions the Best Buy ads having been set in place before the Japan Earthquake.
I believe it. These ad circulars, not just for Best Buy, are created and sometimes even printed weeks and months in advance.

Maybe Steve will introduce the full version? "Boom" here's the new Final Cut Studio.
so what do the experts say to that? Does it mean a step up, down or a side-step on the professional–consumer scale?
Final Cut Pro is already professional. New version is even better.

BREAKEVEN: is 25 MILLIONS TRACKS DOWNLOADED!!!
OUCH!
The Beatles are OLD and HISTORY.
They will NEVER break even on this contract.
You're just wrong. Not everyone who buys music online is a 14 year-old. There are millions of baby-boomers with credit cards and lots of disposible income. And plenty of 14 year-olds will be downloading Beatles music, too.

Good lord people. Watch the video for crying out loud. Why would you stick a usb or firewire or whatever kind of card like this is into a MacBook? It already comes with a card for free right inside!
Now, what would have been more impressive, is if this guy would have attacked the MacBook straight up as ALL PEOPLE USING A MACBOOK WOULD BE USING IT.
Criminy. Is the world really this hung up on trying to blast a hole into Apple's products?
This guy is just sour that he ain't in Vegas.

You make some great points and I think the key to a successful reduction in military spending is to reduce it over time. A sudden 30-50% cut in the budget would be horrific and not just for a military program but in any program. But why not aim to reduce it from 600 billion today, to 400 billion fifteen years from now? The key is discipline but such a trait is not something I have seen Washington demonstrate. :(
Even I would support something along these lines ... can't argue with this sort of rational reductions

I hope what this shows the PC makers is that it's not just a race to the bottom as far as price is concerned, but that people are willing to pay more for a device if it's built well and does a good job.
Stop worrying about shaving that extra dollar off the price and providing the rock-bottom rickety low-cost PC that will fall apart in a few months; instead, go ahead and invest in computers with longer battery life, better build quality, and other useful features -- consumers are willing to pay for it.

They definitely just need to have an update to 220 GBs that was previously discussed here. Idk what I'd do. The biggest iPod Touch is way too small and way more money.

A lot of users don't mind if they get crap, as long as it's cheap crap.
very true.

That is what people aren't understanding. They see something and imagine it being the same design despite function changing. If they do touchscreen, it won't be long (if not instant) before they redo how it sits on the table.
A design that allows the screen to go relatively flat and vertical is necessary. This design should have been done already 3 years ago.
Surely this new device will be wedged shaped like a large slice of cheese or indeed a very deep keyboard where the keys are the screen....
You would need to use or enhance your LCD to be viewable from a ~45 degree angle. Ideally tweek it so it worked well at an angle rather than square on.

The only "Open" Media standard is Vorbis and FLAC.

Now here is one place where the superiority of the Zune comes through. Many, many words rhyme with "Zune", in contrast to the sadly rhyme-challenged "iPod". You can even have:
"I played a mellow tune
On my yellow Zune."
With iPod, you pretty much run out after "tripod".
---
Ha!
Ive an even better one:
"Id really go to town if I had a Zune t'was brown"
And we all know what brown reminds us of besides chocolate....

my thoughts about the Banner: There are no new products on this banner (ok, the DVD) only products wich we already know.
Power Mac/ Mac Pro
iMac
Macbook /(Pro)
iPod Nano
thats all i can see. so you will see, that there is no "normal" iPod on the picture. Why the hell ist that? Are they going to release a new one?
I realy don't belive in this, but it seems strange to me, that theree are all hardware products on the banner with only the iPod missing......
The iSight isn't up there either. Maybe it's getting axed.
