For example, Skunk if very consistent in his proposition that the Bible is a revisionist book written by man with a specific human agenda in mind. In many discussions I've seen him post comments about the polytheistic history of the Canaanite people. That's one of his key points and he will continue to say so as he feels it is an important piece of evidence for his view.Would you argue that the Canaanites were not polytheistic?
Would you argue that the Hebrews were not Canaanites themselves?
Would you argue that the true polytheistic beliefs of contemporary Canaanites were not described in the Old Testament?
Would you argue that Israelite and Judaean leaders did not name their sons after El, chief god of the Canaanites?
Would you argue that the prophets were not continually bemoaning the polytheism of their people?
Would you argue that the "War in Heaven" was not the point at which the polytheism of Israel and Judah was transformed into monotheism, when El defeated the other gods and cast them out of heaven?
Would you argue that the angels were not the defeated lesser gods of the pantheon, retaining their memories of godhood in their -el suffixes?
Would you argue that Satan is not the same as Baal/Beelzebub?

Apple needs to get over their trip on Adobe and do what's best for their customers! As somebody who absolutely loves Apple and their products...I find some of their decisions very strange and frustrating.

I was wondering "why did they announce it today instead of Tuesday?" then I remembered the elections. Steve probably didn't want to be totally lost in the media swamp.

I actually really like the look of iTunes 7. The new view options are cool, but I'll probably just stick with the text-only "list" view.

I predict this will be a hot thread for discussion. I'll admit that the app approval process leaves me a bit cold, and is in dire need of some changes.

Perhaps devs jumping ship will spur Apple to action.

They should use the new LOVE mix of Tomorrow Never Knows with Within You Without You. The drumming is so cool and it would attract so much attention since although so many have heard the two separate songs, hearing the Mashup of the two is quite stunning and very modern. You should check it out if you have not yet. Amazing sound. Especially in 5.1

That album is completely lame. I was bored to tears listening to it on the Virgie magastore booth...

This is the best Beatles album period:

Enough Jay-Z meets the Beatles is way more creative. Someday Applecorps will need to release this.

Let's just all line up to get in the door and give them our hard earned money for more of their mindless crap. You can't find what you actually go there for and end up buying loads of junk that you don't need. As for me and my family we will go and spend 5 and even 10% more to be able to find what we need and actually have a cashier at the register when we are ready to leave!

Oh hey wait is that another huge empty Wal-Mart building that I see there. Why yes it is, a whole neighborhood could fit there or better yet a nice park with some real trees!

Austrian Store is down as well.

Take note, that Austria is NOT among those countries (US, UK, Germany,...) who are supposed to get iPad's in April.

Just compare the German and Austrian iPad site

So why WHY WWHHHYYYY are they updating the Austrian Store as well ???

Can anyone think of ways that 3D on an ipad could actually be useful or benefit the user experience and interface, other than being a cool (or potentially annoying) effect for games and movies?
Usually apple doesn't use a technology in one of its devices if it doesn't *do* something to improve the device... I'm blanking on this one.

    Back on topic...

I don't know why people are going on and on about the $400 price for Windows Vista Ultimate version. That's a retail price, just like the $300 retail price for windows XP. Only an idiot would buy a retail version of windows when you can get the same full install (not an upgrade) oem version for a fraction of that price.

A retail version of Windows XP professional SP2 is $300 at compUSA and the OEM of XP pro SP2 is $130 at my local PC parts store.

Retail pricing isn't even worth discussing unless Microsoft decides to end oem sales of windows.

Of course, that also assumes that the average person walking into a major retailer would or could know that little bit of info.

Personally, I have no plans whatsoever to buy Vista. I'm not a gamer, I neither develop in or have a need to use apps built in VB or MSAccess. I no longer work for Sony supporting PCs running Windows, and so frankly I have no need for anything other than a Mac.

And frankly if I ever decided to get into gaming (not impossible, but highly doubtful) I'd probably just get a gaming console and hook it up to my LCD panel.

Do those in the anti-piracy camp have major issues with someone who pirates Adobe products, but doesn't "profit" from them?....i.e doesn't make even enough money to cover the costs of the original products or even makes zero dollars?

Yes. It's stealing, download a trial version and if you like it buy it. If not go get a cheaper solution elsewhere.

I give it one more year, and Adobe's products will be entirely replaceable by App store Apps that will be SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper. Developers will be making their money, the apps will be cheap enough that piracy won't be as big of an issue, and everyone will be happy (except Adobe....and those heavily invested into their software model, and business).

People have been saying this for a decade and instead the competition has been eaten or don't exist anymore. There is more than Adobe's apps but the entire collaboration between native files within the suite.

Could it happen? Sure. But they will have be big enough to fight a buyout buy Adobe and/or come out with an entire suite (page layout, photo and web etc) to directly compete as a 'package' to really make in the professional realm of agencies etc.

I think Apple has really reached a fork in the road when it comes to the iPod.

Do they really want to start selling these things as vidoe players, not just music players that play video? If so, everyone knows they need a bigger screen and that is going to run up the price of the iPod.

    So they have a choice:
    (1) Introduce a true video iPod and ask more for it.
    (2) Drop in bigger HDs into the current line.

The introduction of movie rentals might be a testing ground to see if people are really buying the idea. So if the iVideo Store (?) does well, this might indicate that people really want true, big scree video iPods. If it does so-so that might tell Apple that they should just keep the iPod primarilly a music player and the vidoe playback be an extra feature.

If they do introduce a more expensive, full screen iPod, they need a cheap[er], higher capacity only-music player too. This is where the Nano comes in. They need to be sure they have a good, well built, atractive line of Nanos for their customers that do not want to take the plunge to the video side.

The introduction of a new Nano and a video store but not a 6G iPod might indicate that they are stilling trying to decide which direction to take the 6G. I would say that if they do introduce the video store and a new Nano on the 12th a new iPod will be out before Christmas (no later that Thanksgiving, late November).

All this is based on the assumption that a true video iPod would cost more than the current line. I make this assumption based on the fact that they need bigger hard drives, bigger screens, and better battery. All these improvements are bound to increase the price.

I believe they'll just up the storage this time around. Then maybe in another year (or whenver most reasonable) they'll release a TRUE iPod video, and as for battery life - by this point would it be unreasonable to have a 16-32 GB flash-based iPod's? Sure that might be stepping on the nano's ground, but it would increase battery life and I'm sure they could offer a thicker HDD based model with 120 GB or something outrageous for those who need/want the storage, even if it means having a twice as thick iPod or something... I've read that it's possible that flash will drop to prices that a 32 GB iPod in a year isn't too unbelievable. Seeing that the Nano should double from 4-8 Gig's year over year, I would imagine another double 8-16 isn't too farfetched, and 32 a possibility at a higher price point.

Then again maybe increasing the ram or whatever chip that gives the 60 gig 5G iPod better battery life then the 30 gig may be enough in and of itself. But I have no idea... Just some thoughts though, rumor on friends.

I was excited to see that blood gulch had be remade but after playing it a few times i have to say its one of my least favourite maps. There are too many vehicles and not enough vehicles killing weapons. Usually one person will get in a tank and if he is able to take out the other tank theres no real way to stop them. Particularly if they just sit up the back taking long shots leaving you no real chance to get close. Bungie needed to put a spartan laser on the map somewhere.
