I just want to say that when the iPhone 4 pics first leaked, there was a huge howl about how ugly it was.

Not sure if anybody's noticed yet, but they've changed the design a bit too. Specifically, the optical drive. Notice how now instead of just being a slot in the front, it seems to have a bit of darker grey plastic around it.
Yeah! I saw that its like a boarder around it.. Me liking it :)

Here is my question with the market....

A year ago, when Apple was at 80 and the iPhone and all the new products had been announced, I figured everyone knew how great these products were going to be and had already inflated the price of the stock to a high 80. So, I decided not to buy.... well, as we know, the stock rose over 200. Everyone bought much later on.

So, does this translate to: In a market that I know a lot about and believe in, even though new product news is out, before profit/financial news it out, should I still buy?
(Yes, I am relatively new at this... flame on)
It just drives me nuts, that I knew things were going to do well, and thought everyone already knew and had bought.

I'm sorry, if you struggle to lose weight, you're not doing it right. Losing weight is dead easy.

Its just not that easy for some people

Why are you trying to turn the assault into bullying / an LGBT hate crime? I know MacRumors PRSI is obsessed with the issue, but there's no evidence for it.

According to The Smoking Gun (http://www.thesmokinggun.com/buster/mcdonalds/mcdonalds-employee-filmed-brutal-beating-640128) the McDonald's employee sacked was Vernon Charm Hackett, who had the following to say on his Facebook page:

This is great but I do have a question..
Since it's bluetooth and Apple says it works within 30 ft.What happens if you're in a starbucks and other people have bluetooth turned on ?
Will they be able to "hack" your Mighty Mouse?

You need to read up on how Bluetooth pairing works. The short answer is this doesn't happen. It'd be a slightly pointless protocol if the above could happen.

I know this does not have much to do with anything in this thread. I have heard Gates owns a some shares of Apple and was wondering how many or what percentage he owns. I have googled, ask jeeves, yahoo and searched this website for 45 minutes for the answer with no luck and thought you all in this thread could shed some light. Thanks for reading.

    Zero.

So the iPhone went from being pummeled by Android to now just being badly beaten.

    That is Awesome.

No even if Android marketshare is bigger iPhone is STILL the winner. Two handsets verses 90+ Android handsets and Apple still holds its own. That should tell you something but I'm sure it doesn't.

Why I reply to you I'll never know since everyone knows what you are.

    Either...

    This (http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Manhattan-Office-Espresso-High-back-Chair/4015748/product.html?rcmndsrc=2):

    or

    This (http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Manhattan-Espresso-Office-Chair/3097391/product.html?rcmndsrc=2):

    Which one is better?
    Nothing else really.

I bought the same chair from the officechairstation.com for under $200. It should be here tomorrow. Also bought an iPad 32GB. Should be here next week. I think I'm good for my wishlist for now.

Edit: I stand corrected. Just played with the Magic Trackpad. Now I want one. Going to pick one up within a week or two.

    Interesting view but?
Suing your supplier is tricky but,
Suing your largest customer is STUPID. Apple can likely find other sources but customers the size of Apple?
Never happen. They have a death wish.

How is 4% of their revenue a death wish for a company that is about twice the size of Apple as far as revenue goes and has a foothold in many industries outside of Apple's circle ?

No, these are clear negotiation tactics on the part of corporations. Apple doesn't care that Samsung is suing them and will continue to source part from them and Samsung doesn't give a hoot that Apple is suing them, they will continue to sell them parts.

I just bought one Friday. I guess I'm returning it.

It has been a while since the last refresh and if you follow things here, you would have known to wait.

I've got a 2.5 yr old MacBook that is feeling stretched with Aperture. I've been thinking that an iMac / iPad combination would be a good replacement.

Anyone with experience in getting iPads to work with iMacs (specifically remote access)?

I have an iPad and use iTeleport on my iPhone 4 and iPad to remote access from my home network and remotely into my iMac. Works fairly well. There is some lag but when you need to get some stuff done, it can be quite useful. I wouldn't recommend it for significant workload.

Do you guys think there will there be another refresh with Lion pre-loaded this summer? Im looking to purchase my first mac but wanted to wait until Lion drops.

They won't refresh again before Lion, probably not for another year, but they will ship with Lion when it comes out. Lion will cost you whatever it retails for, whether that is $129 or $29 (and I'm guessing it will be back to the $129 as it isn't the minor bump Snow Leopard was), with the only exception being that once they announce a release date (probably at WWDC), any machines purchased after that and before the release will be eligible for a copy of Lion at $9.99 shipping fee, so you aren't discouraged from buying during that 2-8 week period.

Skint at the moment but exactly the above.

I was looking at the 24" and held off for the update when they did the 21.5 and 27.

21.5 is too small for me really and 27 is too big.... 24 would have been the ideal size really so I held off and in the end didn't bother.

Will probably get a 24" monitor and a henge dock or maybe a mac mini instead

Honestly, I've looked at the dimensions and because of the wider aspect, the lack of an aluminum border, and almost edge to edge screen the 27" iMac is not much larger dimensionally than the 24", though the screen is larger of course.

Personally, I am waiting to update my 24" 2.8 Ghz Extreme iMac (aluminum rev. A - Aug 2007) to a new 27" but will hold out a couple extra months for a 10.7 preloaded machine. I prefer to do a clean OS install which I don't want to repeat so soon. Setting up all those apps, and copying in libraries, files, and other data from a backup is something I only want to do once.

I suppose I could use a standard AA battery recharger. I haven't seen one in use since about 10 years ago and they never used to be very good...

The current NiMH rechargeables are much, much better than the old NiCds; they last longer and allow more recharge cycles. They still don't last as long per cycle as an alkaline, but for battery-hungry gadgets NiMH is great.
